In the vast expanse of the universe, astronomers have been searching for signs of life on other planets. To narrow down the possibilities, they have identified certain criteria, one of which is the "Goldilocks Zone" or habitable zone. This is the range of distance from a celestial object where the temperature is just right for liquid water to exist, which is crucial for life as we know it. If a planet has liquid water, it could potentially support life.
In this painting inspired by the concept of the Goldilocks Zone and black holes, two butterflies are depicted in a state of ecstasy as they mate and dance around an expanding black hole that is devouring a hollyhock garden in bloom. The bush nearby hides their former metamorphoses: the egg, caterpillar, and chrysalis. The painting is a representation of the importance of distance in life, both for the right conditions for life to exist, and for love to flourish.
Humans, like planets, are constantly being pulled in and pushed away by the gravity of other people's lives. Maintaining a balance between attraction and freedom requires careful measurement of the right distance, just as planets must orbit at the right distance from their star to support life.
